Double Feature and Potluck Dinner!
Presented by Cinema Verde and Green Drinks
Before The Flood - 96 min
Trailer at YouTube.
Captures a 3-year personal journey of Academy Award-winning actor and U.N. Messenger of Peace, Leonardo DiCaprio, as he interviews persons from every facet of society in both developing and developed nations who provide unique, impassioned, and pragmatic views on what must be done today and in the future to prevent catastrophic disruption of life on our planet.
Michael Moore in Trumpland - 73 min
From review at Salon.com: “The key to this film . . . is that [Moore] finds a way to push past the sense of sectarian violence that has shaped our voting blocs into hostile territories. Moore stages a conversation that can serve as a model for democratic deliberation — where, even if we disagree, we don’t have to lose a sense of our common humanity.”

MooseHead's Wicked Good Plan is a documentary about Maine's 17 million acre forest threatened by development proposed by the landowner in a situation similar to a local proposal. This screening was sponsored by St. Johns Suwanee Sierra Club and Stand By Our Plan.
National Geographic's Chief Sustainability Officer Hans Wegner endorsement forMoosehead's Wicked Good Plan, "I think this is a very nicely done piece of film on a subject that is very local, yet is in reality simply a microcosm of what is happening all over the world where decisions are made by corporate entities not based on what is good for the larger region, but purely for economic returns to the corporate coffers. Lost in that are the concerns of the locals and a consideration of the larger impact such decisions have."
Let's watch Moosehead's Wicked Good Plan together and chat about the effects that arise from the development of forested areas and how best to deal with inevitable growth of natural areas. Click the link below to watch the trailer for the half hour film.
